Privacy.
Perk Up is built by Perk Up Digital (Melbourne). This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't.
What we collect.
When you sign up:
- Your email address (used to sign in via a one-time code)
- Your first name
When you use the app:
- Stamps you earn (which café, when)
- Free coffees you redeem (which café, when)
- Your referral code, and the friend who referred you (if any)
- A push notification token (so we can tell you when you're one stamp away)
If you submit a café:
- Café name, suburb, address, phone number
- Owner name and ABN (so we can verify the café is real)
- An optional proof-of-ownership URL
We do not collect: physical location, contacts, photos, payment info, health data, browsing history, or advertising IDs.
What we don't do.
- We don't track your location. The map shows cafés near you using your phone's location only while the map is open. We never store it.
- We don't run analytics SDKs that profile you. No Meta SDK. No Google Analytics. No advertising IDs.
- We don't sell your data. We don't share it for marketing. Ever.
Permissions.
- Camera: used by café staff to scan customer QR codes. No photos are taken or stored.
- Notifications:used to nudge you when you're close to a free coffee, or when you haven't been to your usual in a while. Turn them off any time in your device settings.
Crash reporting.
We use Sentry to catch app crashes so we can fix them. Crash reports include your device model, OS version, and the line of code that broke. They do not include your email, name, stamps, or anything personally identifying.
Where your data lives.
Customer data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL, hosted in Sydney). Push notifications go through Expo (exp.host). That's the entire third-party list.
Café staff access.
If you run a café on Perk Up, your registered admins can see the stamps and reward claims granted at your café. Only your café. They cannot see your activity at other cafés.
Perk Up staff access.
Perk Up admins (currently the founder) can see all data to moderate café submissions and respond to support requests.
Deleting your account.
Profile → Delete Account. This permanently wipes your profile, stamps, reward claims, push token, and referral history.
Kids.
Perk Up is for ages 13 and up. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights under Australian law.
We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can request a copy or correction of your data, or lodge a complaint, by emailing hello@perkup.au.
Changes.
When we update this policy we'll change the effective date at the top.
